Photographer's Rights

Yesterday was the first time I was approached and questioned by someone while taking a picture (the image to the right is the result). The photographer's legal guide is a great thing to look through to know that you have strong rights as a photographer. That should give you confidence to jump out and grab that prise winning photo (yeah right), but, obviously, you don't want to just tout your rights to anyone who questions you. I introduced myself, told the owner of the field how beautiful it was, and showed him the image I was trying to capture. He grunted about concern at someone being parked at his gate and carried on.

Can't please everyone all the time, but a soft answer turns away wrath.

A decent one page legal guide for the photographer is legal guide.

Kevan's Angle is finally live...

Now I have done it -- gotten into the blogesphere. This is really primarily an outlet for my latest passions (of which I am sure I will have many). The current (and actually the longest term and most intertwined one) is photography -- capturing light.

Hopefully this won't just be a personal outlet, but a way to give to others as I take pictures of people, their kids, and some just for the artistic value of it. I have no delusions of grandeur -- I follow many blogs of truly remarkable photographers (I will post some of them soon). Every time I look at their sites I get both depressed and excited. Selfishly depressed because I have little hope of matching their talent and excited because I really enjoy great photography that tells a story in just a click.
